Music - Kim McLean

North Carolina’s Appalachian Angel, Kim McLean is a story-singer of original tales woven from the smoky blue mist of the mountains. A child of Irish-Cherokee roots, her hybrid melodies weave her haunting musical heritage into a creative, fresh sound she has coined, "groove-grass."

"Happy Face," on Hippie Chick Twang records, features a woman’s victory over trials in "Cryin’ Days"...constant joy quest in the title song, "Happy Face" (co-written with Big Kenny of Big n Rich)…and the bittersweet goodbye to a child in "Angels & Eagles" (a lovely duet with Dolly Parton). Songs of forgiveness, heaven, saints, and grace will wash over you as you listen, leaving you pressing ‘play’ again…and again.

Award winning songwriter honors from the Dove Awards, NSAI, and ASCAP

Songs used on NBC (West Windy), CBS (J*A*G), and ABC (with a guest spot on "Hope & Friends")

Her original songs have been recorded by Tim McGraw, Shana Morrison, Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack, Eve Selis, the Judds…and more.
